About the Box Sedge Bag – Latte Bear Cream
The Box Sedge Bag – Latte Bear Cream is a handcrafted product that embodies the spirit of the Mekong Delta. Fully handwoven from natural sedge, each bag is lightweight, durable, and eco-friendly.
Material Story — Long An Sedge
Sedge (Lepironia articulata) is an aquatic sedge of the Cyperaceae family that grows wild in the flooded acid-sulfate wetlands of Long An, Kien Giang, and other Mekong Delta provinces. Its stem is straight and hollow, about 1m tall — light yet durable, and it regenerates naturally after each harvest without needing replanting. A 100% biodegradable material that requires no fertilizer or chemicals during cultivation.
Sedge Weaving — A Mekong Delta Handicraft Heritage
Sedge weaving has been passed down through generations among the Khmer community and farmers of southwestern Vietnam. After harvest, each strand of sedge is sun-dried, carefully sorted, and hand-woven by skilled artisans — creating products imbued with the soul and distinctive character of the river region.
Who Is It For?
An ideal choice for those who love a natural, eco-friendly style, travelers seeking a Vietnamese souvenir, resorts and hotels wanting a distinctive accessory, or anyone looking for a meaningful gift.
